Day 3 – To Gergy / Saône

120 km
In the early morning it was already over 20 degrees and in the afternoon about 32 degrees. On such hot days it is important to drink a lot of water. This a little problem on the canal cycle path that only touches the villages, but in most cases bypasses the center. And not all villages have shops or water taps, so I Iost some time to find a ‘commerce’. I decided to do some shopping in Dole, which is a real town an has all infrastructure.
From time to time I met a fellow cyclist Frank from Cologne. He was a bit faster on his bike, but he made some longer stops and I saw him again. We had some chats about the planned route, experiences on other routes and technical equipment.
In the afternoon I reached the river Saône, which is a real big river compared to the Doubs.
At the end of the day I pitched my tent in Cergy.
